Escape to the Tamar Valley and Escape the Everyday!
Now that lockdown restrictions are lifting, step by step, and bit by bit, there’s no better time to pop on your walking shoes, trainers or boots and get out and about into the beautiful Tamar Valley countryside.
The Valley boasts miles and miles of country paths, quiet lanes and shady woodlands. Not to mention spectacular scenery and splendid waterways. What’s more escaping the everyday and getting out and about in nature is good for wellbeing and mental health. You may have come across the Biophilia Hypothesis. It suggests that human beings have an innate predisposition to connecting with nature. The concept was first introduced in a book by Edward O. Wilson, who defined biophilia as “the urge to affiliate with other forms of life”. In fact the word ‘biophilia’ means ‘love of life or living systems’ and has been used to describe a psychological attraction to all that is alive and full of vitality.
And there’s plenty of life and vitality everywhere you look in the Tamara Valley. Now that non-essential retail is open once again, there are towns and villages to explore. Why not while away the hours watching the world go by with a freshly ground coffee, or glass of vino? Bask in the famous Westcountry sunshine with a freshly ground coffee of glass of vino. Pack a picnic and take to the countryside with your bikes, or on foot (not forgetting the dog of course).
Escaping the everyday in the Tamar Valley is so easy to do, and as we reach the next steps on the Government’s roadmap back to normality, more and more accommodations, attractions and eateries will open too.
