Carefully restored in 2006 using local materials, the barn retains much of its original character with granite lintels, oak beams and Cornish rag slates and yet makes use of modern ‘green’ technology with solar panels and underfloor heating.
It is the perfect spot for those who require peace and tranquillity. The barn is totally separate from the farm and has its own entrance and a secure garden with plenty of room to sit on the patio, play on the grass and park cars. The upside down accommodation provides an ideal base from which to explore Cornwall and Devon as it is less than 5 minutes to the A30 and about 20 minutes to Boscastle, Tintagel, Crackington Haven and Widemouth. The Tamar Valley, Bodmin Moor, Eden Project, several National Trust properties and many other tourist attractions are within 45 minutes driving time.
The open plan first floor living area has exposed oak A-frames, wooden floors and beautiful views across the patchwork of local farmland with Dartmoor in the distance. The lounge has a digital TV, DVD player, free Broadband WiFi and a selection of books, games, toys and DVD’s for guests to use. A large kitchen area has been fitted with electric hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washer dryer.
The French windows open onto the original granite steps which lead down to a large garden, patio and parking area. The ground floor benefits from underfloor heating. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed with ensuite shower room and wc. The twin bedroom has 3 foot beds which can be zipped and linked together to form a super king size double on request. There is a further single bedroom with a pull out 2’ 6” bed available. The family bathroom has a large bath with a shower over it.
