Primrose Cottage is a beautiful country bed and breakfast, constructed around a 300 year old cobb cottage with, in places attractive low ceilings and original beams. We cater exclusively for adults.
You can be assured of a warm welcome, a restful escape from the pressures of daily life in calm and peaceful surroundings, exceptional accommodation, delicious breakfasts and the freedom to wander the woods, gardens, riverside and to come and go as you please.
Relax and unwind in one of our spacious suites which each offer a private lounge with your own entrance, a delightful bedroom with a separate sparkling bathroom and extensive country views and a unique outlook across the Tamar Valley to the Devon hills beyond. The suites all benefit from their own designated parking.
Our guest rooms offer extremely comfortable beds with a high-quality mattress to ensure a good night’s sleep, together with a gleaming separate shower room or bathroom. As well as individual little touches, all our rooms come with the following as standard:
The suites have plenty of personal space and have comprehensive information regarding places of interest and the locality, eating and shopping recommendations, and other activities to make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible.
A freshly prepared Full Cornish Breakfast is served in our light and airy dining room where you can enjoy watching the birds at their feeders and admire the views across the fields to the Tamar and the Devon hills beyond. There is a selection of lighter cooked options available too. As an alternative we can deliver your freshly cooked break-fast to your apartment.
Here you will escape, take time, admire the view, and relax. Our guests are assured of a peaceful and relaxing stay.
You can borrow wellies from the passageway and explore the woodland paths to the river, and we can provide insulated mugs for tea on the bench by the river.
In Spring wild garlic and primroses flood the woods, the rays of sunshine snake down through the leaves, throughout the seasons there is a changing vista. The river splashes down over the weir and the bench by the river offers a shady spot to watch the kingfishers dart. You can see how the Camellias and Rhododendrons bring the terraced garden into spectacular multi-colour.
We are situated in an excellent position to explore Devon and North Cornwall and to discover the delights of the Tamar Valley, Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor. This area has a wealth of historic houses and National Trust properties.
Primrose Cottage is in the heart of rural Cornwall, but only 10 minutes from the main A30. Launceston is an 8-minute car drive and has a good range of shops, banks and supermarkets.
The Southwest has a culture of good food, there are several good pubs within a short (10 – 15 minute) drive of Primrose Cottage, we have details and some recommendations and will happily make a reservation for you should you wish.
“The most delightful B&B we’ve ever stayed in!” (Mike & Carolyn, Dec 2019)
