Welcome to Lynher

The spectacular River Lynher is another tributary to the mighty Tamar.  The river flows through East Cornwall, meeting the Tamar at the famous Hamoaze before flowing into the Plymouth Sound and on to the English Channel.  

A popular spot for brown trout and Atlantic Salmon fishing, the Lynher and its tributaries are also home to unique bird and wildlife including kingfishers, otters, white-throated dipper, avocet and black-tailed godwit.  The unique blend of local creatures and beautiful rolling countryside and river valleys draw in visitors from across the country.  

Forming part of the stunning 75 square mile Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of the Tamar Valley, the Lynher passes through some of the regions most spectacular villages and countryside as well as rising up over Bodmin Moor.
