Recreate the magic of the night before Christmas in the gardens, help Father Christmas call out all his reindeer on the winter lights walk between Cotehele Quay and Cotehele Mill, and round up the cheeky mice who have hidden our Christmas pudding ingredients at Cotehele Mill. 

Collect trail sheets from Cotehele Reception, Cotehele Mill and the Info Point at Cotehele Quay.

For over 65 years our garden team has continued the tradition to create a 60-ft long Christmas garland using thousands of flowers grown on the estate. Get into the festive spirit by seeing this year’s garland within the Great Hall. 

The Kitchen, Breakfast Room, and Victorian Library within the house will also be open. The rest of the house will be closed for the winter and reopens in March 2025. 

Step-free access is available to the Great Hall. A portable ramp for manual wheelchairs is available for access to the Breakfast Room, Kitchen, and Victorian Library – please ask a guide for assistance.

Visit Santa at his magical Winter Wonderland here at Tamar View Nurseries.  With a huge collection of animations, and instore displays to see,  along with a special present from Santa himself  to make the visit extra memorable.

Follow the festive lights along the stream to find Cotehele Mill tucked within the Morden Valley. The mill will be decorated in traditional Victorian style, and you’ll be able to discover how families like the Langsfords, who lived at Cotehele Mill, celebrated Christmas in those times. 

Head to the first floor for toys to play with, costumes to adorn yourselves in and craft activities to complete.

Cotehele Mill is a 15-minute walk on a flat path through the woods from Cotehele Quay. A volunteer run shuttle bus is operational on some days, please check with reception upon arrival.
