Get out on the water

Hugely popular with water lovers, the valley of the Tamar River and its tributaries – the Tavy and the Lynher – is rich with rivers, lakes and reservoirs to explore.  

Take a serene river tour, meandering along one of the areas stunning waterways.  The rivers or the Tamar Valley are home to some spectacular scenery and plant life as well as some unique local bird and animal life to pick out. 

A designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Tamar Valley is not short of spectacular waterside locations to enjoy a picnic or relaxing day in the sunshine.  Pull on your walking boots and find a little explored trail to take on. 

If a more adrenaline filled water adventure is your preference, the vast, beautiful lakes dotted across the Tamar Valley are perfect for taking on whatever Watersport takes your fancy.  Schools and activity centres across the area can provide tuition and equipment to give you a go at everything from kayaking, windsurfing, stand-up paddle boarding, wakeboarding and so much more. 

Not to mention its excellent location on the Devon and Cornwall border giving easy access to the stunning coastlines of each county and the abundance of water adventures and activities on offer.
