Activities

Covering some 75 square miles across the Devon and Cornwall border, you’ll never be short of exciting things to do in the Tamar Valley all year round.

If you love the great outdoors, this part of the world is the perfect choice for a getaway. Relaxing countryside walks, challenging hikes, wild offroad adventures by bike or 4×4, paintballing, country parks to explore, horse riding…the list of things to do here in the Tamar Valley goes on and on and on.

No visit to Devon and Cornwall is complete without hitting the water and there is a watery adventure to suit every appetite across the vast Tamar Valley. For a more relaxing day out, the rivers that criss cross the Valley offer loads of opportunity for serene waterside walks and picnics, taking in the scenery and unique wildlife.  Thrill seekers can get their fix at one of the many activity centres and country parks and lakes dotted across the region.  Try your hand at everything from wakeboarding, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, stand up paddle boarding and so much more.

If you’re a fair-weather adventurer, there’s plenty to tackle indoors too.  Explore Devon and Cornwall’s rich heritage across the valley, work that grey matter at the Hidden Valley Discovery Park or scale new heights at the Barn Climbing Centre.
