Welcome to Tavy

One of the main tributaries to the Tamar River, the Tavy starts high on Dartmoor with some incredible views to enjoy.  Winding its way down through the valleys of Dartmoor and running through the centre of Tavistock to whom it gives its name, the river is an incredibly popular spot for sea trout fishing.   The calm waters of the Tavy are a great spot for families to explore and enjoy, perhaps trying out some new water sports or simply paddling in the shallows.

Eventually the Tavy meets the mighty Tamar river and the combined waterways flow into the Plymouth Sound and the English Channel and beyond that.
