Free to enter Visitor Centre situated at the Tamar Bridge with stunning views of the River.
The Visitor and Learning Centre interprets the heritage of both the 20th century Tamar Bridge and Brunel’s iconic 19th century Royal Albert Bridge.
As well exploring the history of one of Brunel’s finest achievements visitors also have the opportunity to find out more about how operators manage and monitor the road bridge, the Saltash Tunnel and the tolling system.
Free introductory talks about the bridges run every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 11am and can be booked on eventbrite or via the website. Teachers can book school workshops, and a range of group visits are available for specialist interest groups and tourists.
Visitors can spend a couple of hours here to look around the exhibition and join a guided tour. If they have longer the Bridge is ideally situated to explore the town of Saltash which has many independent shops and cafes (there is currently no dedicated shop or café at the Learning Centre but there are public toilets and a picturesque picnic site).
