Stories from the Stones at Cotehele

Join our volunteers for an external guided tour of Cotehele House to find out more about its architectural development through the centuries.

Wednesday 7 October 2026, 11:30am to 12:30pm and 1:30-pm to 2:30pm 

Starting as a small medieval house, find out how the Edgcumbes changed their family home over more than 600 years, along with their fortunes, finishing in the Victorian period as an antiquarian curiosity and home for a widowed countess. 

This tour involves standing and walking for a long period of time. There are limited chairs along the route. 

Meet by the Grass Circle near the house 

This tour is held outside so please wear appropriate outdoor clothing. Don’t forget to bring a waterproof if it rains and sturdy footwear.
