Full information

The Granary is set within 18 acres of beautiful pasture land in one of the most stunning areas of West Devon. Borough Farm is also home to pedigree rare breed sheep, Connemara ponies and some quirky lavender Pekin chickens with their fluffy feet which can be seen free ranging in the orchard gardens.

The Granary is situated on the first floor of a beautifully converted upper floor stone barn with exposed wooden beams, original slatted windows, wooden floors with sheepskins and rugs. A stunning oak framed apex window allows you to star gaze at night from the carved antique french bed. Granary Guests have their own private Granary Garden and BBQ area at their convenience.

After you have seen the sun rise spectacularly over Dartmoor from your bedroom window, breakfast is served in The Loft room which is adjacent to The Granary. Guests can choose continental style or full English breakfast including produce from the farm. Evening meals can be provided.

Explore the pathways around the farm for some interesting walks through this beautiful part of Devon. Visit local historic towns including the charming ancient stannary town of Tavistock, climb our nearest Tor – Brentor, with its charming church perched high on the hillside. Walk through Lydford Gorge with its stunning cascading waterfall and stream or take a walk on one of our suggested walks on the moor. Alternatively, if it is the coast you seek, the north Cornwall coast is an easy drive to catch some waves or for gentle swimming try the south coast. Being on the Devon – Cornwall border makes it easy to access both counties.

Other activities include kayaking at Roadford Lake or on the Tamar, horse riding at Mary Tavy, rock climbing both indoors at The Barn, Milton Abbot, or outdoors on the moors, cycling on the many cycle routes around including Route 27 which crosses Devon, the Granite way, Tamar Trails or Drake’s Way. If it is fishing you enjoy then we can direct you to some top fishing spots. With so much to do in the area you will be spoilt for choice. With plenty of top class restaurants and hotels on our doorstep too, after all that activity you can enjoy a wonderful meal in some stunning locations.
