The Tamar Valley is renowned for its natural beauty, its industrial heritage, and its excellence in market gardening – producing fine fruit and veg to be enjoyed in homes and restaurants across the land. But it comes as a surprise to many – even our locals – to hear that the village of Gunnislake was once home to a small but popular zoo, which could be found on the very site where today sits the Tamar Valley Garden Nursery.
In the heart of Cornwall’s Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we are first and foremost a family business, bringing you a wide range of plants for your garden, fruit and veg sourced locally where possible. Also on the site we have a tea room serving hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes and scones.
Enjoy a leisurely browse for a plant or two, or pick up a whole car-full to stock your garden. Once the shopping is done why not sit in our tropical garden area in the peace and tranquility enjoying a cup of Cornish Coffee or Tea with a slice of cake or cream tea. Either way, you can look forward to a warm and knowledgeable welcome.
