A short history of Plymouth’s very first Ice Cream Parlour and Plymouths Original Ice Cream Company:

At Valenti’s we’ve been making our “seriously creamy Ice cream” since 1912 when Antonio Valente and his son Carlo travelled from Italy to establish their Ice Cream shop. Their very well known confectionery & Ice cream shop in Flora Street, Stonehouse was probably PLYMOUTH’s first ever Ice Cream Parlour.

In the 1950’s, Carlo’s son Joseph passed on his business to Mr David Williams and with it the very important work of creating Artisan Gelato. This work is still being carried out today by his son Lee Williams and his grandson James.
