Tavistock Town Council is responsible for several markets and events venues in the Town Centre which include Butchers’ Hall, Pannier Market and Town Hall. The Council is also responsible for, in partnership with Tavistock Heritage Trust, the Guildhall Heritage Centre, which is one of three key Cornwall and West Devon Mining World Heritage Site centres.

The Council also looks after most of the play parks and open spaces around the Town and has in its care a large proportion of the old listed buildings in Tavistock.
